What we're doing with the money!

This year's Fair was the most successful ever financially despite the fact that it was easily the most expensive to put on.  The committee have retained a slightly larger amount of money in order to improve cashflow for the 2011 Fair (things got a bit tight at times in the weeks leading up to the 2010 Fair!) and yet we are still able to increase the charitable monies from £5,000 in 2009 to £6,000 this year.

All this is great news for the charities and we are delighted to announce that Help For Heroes, our headline charity this year, will receive £3,000 with the remaining £3,000 being distributed to a number of local causes.

The Village Hall is undergoing significant upgrading and as it is a vital part of our community, it ill be receiving a large sum, as will the Housemartins. The Housemartins is a group run through St Martin's Church to provide services for the elderly and we are delighted to be able to help Anne Mead and her team with the superb volunteer work they do in this role.

Other beneficiaries will be Chelsfield Village School, St Martin-of-Tours Church, the Well Hill Mission Church and there will be our customary donation to Chelsfield Cricket Club as a thankyou for allowing us to use the green each year.

A huge thankyou to the armies of volunteers who make the Fair possible and if you have your diaries to hand, the 2011 Fair will be on Saturday 9th July.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the Fair

We had a record crowd, brilliant weather and record fund-raising.
Thank you to everyone for supporting the 2010 Fair!

Chelsfield Village Fair 2010!

We are delighted to announce that this year's Fair will be held on the Cricket Green on Bucks Cross Road  (postcode BR6 7RN for your Sat Nav) on 10th July. Preparations are already well advanced and we have a majority of the entertainment items already booked - see here.

This year's headline charity will be Help for Heroes together with local good causes.

Many of you know that we like to fund the flying displays from a separate fund called Chelsfield Flying Club. This year the air displays are costing in excess of £2,000 so we are seeking donations already. Please go to this link if you would like to find out more and donate towards Chelsfield's own little airshow!

2009 Fair - Record Crowd!

Despite slightly drizzly conditions, the 2009 Fair saw over 4,000 people gridlock the village in order to visit the Fair.  The weather later in the afternoon prevented the De Havilland Vampire aircraft from displaying although he got as close as the M25 junction but earlier in the day Dan Griffiths pulled off the most stunning Spitfire display.
